Perhaps I should start by congratulating the Government of Grenada
and,
in particular, the Minister whose portfolio includes tourism, for not
only visiting, but touring the United Kingdom earlier this year in a
promotion exercise to encourage tourism from the UK to the three spice
islands of [[Grenada]], [[Carriacou]] and [[Petite Martinique]].
As someone who has been living in the UK for almost forty years it was
extremely encouraging to see that the Government is finally taking
tourism as a serious industry and has decided to compete in an effort
to increase market share.
I am sure the minister will agree that the first impression is vitally
important and I am sure these two words would have been preached to
stakeholders in the business again and again.
Yet as one arrives off
the aeroplane at Point Salines there are disappointments.
