They are each charged with possession of a controlled drug and
possession of a control drug with the intent to supply. Romain who was
crowned the Carriacou Carnival Queen in 2004, was the first to have
been picked up by a special team of officers who arrived here at about
11 a.m . on Sunday. The two men were, later that day, picked up.
The officers also picked up the Suzuki Escudo which was allegedly used to transport the drugs.
According
to a police report, the marijuana was discovered in a pot, in the
locked room, on the first floor of the house where Romain’s
Grand-father lives in [[Belmont]].The house is said to be some 150 meters
from where she lives.
The team of officers arrived and headed
straight to Romain’s home in [[Belmont]] where, according to a police
report, she piloted them to the illegal herb. One of the men reportedly
received the package of compressed marijuana while the other, it is
said, was responsible for transporting the illegal herb to where it was
confiscated by the lawmen.
The special team of officers
reportedly made three trips to Carriacou within the course of Sunday to
Tuesday. Romain’s talent was entitled “say no to drugs” during her
winning performance at the 2004 Carnival beauty pageant show.
The three are to appear at the [[Carriacou]] Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday November 21st to answer the charges.
